Welcome to September, the start of fall! The air turns crisp; another school year begins, and the world of flowers ushers in a new season of flowers. This September we here at Mayflowers Floral Studio are celebrating the Serruria Blushing Bride Protea (Serruria florida).   

The Serruria Blushing Bride Protea’s clusters of blush and cream blooms open from teardrop-shaped buds and resemble starbursts. Their subtle warmth makes them the perfect flower for a season of easing into autumn: it’s as refreshing and visually soothing as a cool September evening in your favorite sweater. Although this unusual beauty, the Serruria Blushing Bride Protea, is not one of the larger blooms of the Protea family, when included in a floral arrangement, it stands out!   

At Mayflowers, we designed the September Flower of the Month flowers arrangements featuring the Serruria Blushing Bride Protea to focus its elegant and exotic nature. In the same way, an orchid captures the wonder of a faraway place, Serruria’s soft colors and cascading movement mesmerize. And as the name suggests, the Blushing Bride Protea also adds textural depth to a fall wedding bouquet.
